Juliet
Instructor
Juliet runs an English lesson program. She is a certified instructor with the British Horse Society. In her youth she was an active Pony Clubber, hunting and eventing until she attained her B rating. In 2006 she earned the United States Dressage Federation Silver Medal on her FEI dressage horse Escorial.
Juliet has been teaching riding for 14 years. She specializes in beginning riders, both kids and adults. Everyone learns how to take care of their horse or pony and how to ride in the arena, on the trail and over fences.
Sugarloaf Farm is named for the Sugarloaf Mountain in Ireland on which Juliet first learned to ride.
Magic
Welsh Mountain Pony
Magic is small and likes small people. When he is clean he is white but, as you can see from his picture, he doesn't stay that way for long. Luckily he enjoys baths and is chief instructor for the How To Clean Your Pony lesson (cleaning Magic is especially satisfying because he actually changes color, from brown to white). He is very proud to be the Sugarloaf Farm mascot.
Duchess
Pinto/Arab Pony
Duchess is a very sweet pony who has perfect manners. She is good on trail and she teaches kids to jump their very first jumps.
Here she is playing a Pony Club game called Stepping Stones.
Fargo
Paint
Fargo is a 16.2 paint who was a hunter before he joined the lesson program. He is wonderful for adults who want to learn to jump and has taken several people to their first combined test and scores well in the dressage phase.
Evie
Connemara Pony
Evie is a Connemara pony who passed her inspection in October 2007 and is now a working member of the lesson program. She went to her first show in April 2009 and she and her rider won the Equitation Championship in their division. She is a very sweet pony and she tries her hardest to do what her rider wants.
Comet
Welsh Mountain Pony
Comet is a very comfortable pony who loves to go on trail. He loves all the attention he gets being part of the Sugarloaf Farm team.
Shamrock
Lipizzaner/Thoroughbred cross
Shamrock has retired to be a pasture ornament at Juliet's house after a long career teaching folk to ride.
